Our travel through the Sacred Valley was by bus and train.  Along the way we made some interesting stops.

The rail journey between Ollantaytambo and Machu Picchu took us through spectacular mountain scenery and dramatic canyons along the beautiful Urubamba River.

The Urubamba flowed gently through most of the fertile valley.

However, through the narrow Urubamba Gorge, it turned into a ferocious river.  It was scary to stand next to it.

We stopped at a llama breeding farm where we saw llamas of all colors and sizes.

At every stop, we were greeted by vendors, none more colorful than these.

At Pisac, we saw the beautifully engineered terraces on which crops were grown.
